Overview

A practical introduction to building for the web. You write real code from the first session — no long theory preamble — and by the end you have published a responsive, accessible site you built yourself.

We work mobile-first throughout, because that is how your visitors will arrive.

What you will be able to do

  • Write semantic, accessible HTML
  • Lay out pages with modern CSS — flexbox, grid and custom properties
  • Build responsive layouts that start at 360 px and scale up
  • Add interactivity with plain JavaScript, without a framework
  • Work with the DOM, events and forms
  • Use Git and GitHub for version control
  • Deploy a site to a live URL
